Leo District 306 D2

Leo District 306 D2 is emerging as a new Leo District in Sri Lanka, formed as a result of the redistricting of Leo Districts commencing from the Leoistic Year 2025/2026. It operates under the sponsorship of Lions District 306 D2 and continues the proud tradition of community service and leadership development carried forward by Leos across the nation.

The history of Leoism in Sri Lanka traces back to 1967, when the very first Leo Club was inaugurated. A significant redistricting took place in 2005, dividing the Multiple 306 into six districts, leading to the formation of District 306 A2. With the most recent restructuring effective from the Leoistic Year 2025/2026, District 306 A2 has now blossomed into Leo District 306 D2. For years, Leos of 306 A2 carried out impactful initiatives for the betterment of society and the growth of members including childcare, eldercare, healthcare, environmental and sports projects, as well as leadership development activities. With the establishment of Leo District 306 D2, this legacy continues with the same committed spirit strengthened by a fresh identity and renewed purpose.

Today, 18 active Leo Clubs are serving under Leo District 306 D2 dedicating themselves to uplifting communities while nurturing future leaders. The district geographically expands from Colombo City covering Milagiriya, Pamankada, Havelock Town and the eastern stretch of Galle Road, extending further to Kesbewa, Homagama and portions of Kalutara, Bandaragama, Horana, Bulathsinhala, Ingiriya and Matugama.

Leo Clubs of District 306 D2 include: Leo Club of Arawwala, Leo Club of Colombo Monarch, Leo Club of Dehiwala East, Leo Club of Ethos International College Colombo VII, Leo Club of Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine FISSMS, Leo Club of Godigamuwa, Leo Club of Kalubowila, Leo Club of Millaniya, Leo Club of Panadura-Alubomulla, Leo Club of Pepiliyana Woodlands, Leo Club of Piliyandala, Leo Club of Piliyandala Central College, Leo Club of Polgasowita, Leo Club of Raththanapitiya, Leo Club of Saegis Campus, Leo Club of Sri Lanka Technological and Research Campus, Leo Club of Taxila Central College II, Leo Club of University of Moratuwa and Leo Club of University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

To support the activities of these clubs, Leo District Council provides an administrative framework that enables Leos to continue their service and self-development with greater impact. By offering guidance, leadership training and opportunities for collaboration, the council ensures that every Leo Club in the district can flourish. It is structured with representatives from all Leo Clubs of District 306 D2 promoting inclusivity, coordination and unity in decision-making.

Leo Thameera Dananjaya serves as the President of Leo District Council 306 D2 for the Leoistic Year 2025/2026, leading the district under the inspiring slogan “Forging Futures Through Technology”. Guided by his leadership, Leo District 306 D2 remains committed to nurturing young leaders and making a meaningful difference in the community while continuing to blossom as one of the leading Leo Districts in Sri Lanka.
