Leo District 306 D2 emerged as a new Leo District in Sri Lanka following the redistricting of Leo Districts, effective from the Leoistic Year 2025/26. Operating under the sponsorship of Lions District 306 D2, the district carries forward the proud tradition of community service, leadership, and personal development that has defined Leoism in Sri Lanka for decades.
The history of Leoism in Sri Lanka dates back to 1967, when the first Leo Club was inaugurated. A significant milestone came in 2005, when Multiple District 306 was restructured into six districts, leading to the establishment of Leo District 306 A2. For two decades, the Leos of District 306 A2 made a meaningful impact through initiatives in childcare, eldercare, healthcare, environmental conservation, sports, and leadership development. With the latest restructuring taking effect in the Leoistic Year 2025/26, District 306 A2 blossomed into Leo District 306 D2, marking the beginning of a new chapter while preserving the values and legacy built over the years.
Today, 19 active Leo Clubs serve under Leo District 306 D2, dedicating themselves to uplifting communities while nurturing the next generation of leaders. The district extends geographically from Colombo City, covering areas such as Milagiriya, Pamankada, Havelock Town, and the eastern stretch of Galle Road, and reaches further into Kesbewa, Homagama, Kalutara, Bandaragama, Horana, Bulathsinhala, Ingiriya, and Matugama.

To support the activities of these clubs, the Leo District Council 306 D2 provides an administrative framework that enables Leos to pursue service and self-development with greater impact. Through guidance, leadership development, training, and opportunities for collaboration, the council creates an environment where every Leo Club can thrive. With representatives from all clubs forming part of the council, it promotes inclusivity, coordination, and unity in decision-making.
Leo Lion Buddika Abeynayaka served as the President of Leo District Council 306 D2 for the Leoistic Year 2026/27, leading the district under the inspiring slogan “United in Purpose.” Under his leadership, the district continued its commitment to nurturing young leaders, strengthening fellowship, and creating meaningful change within communities.
As Leo District 306 D2 steps forward with a fresh identity, it carries with it a rich legacy, a united community of Leos, and a renewed purpose to serve with passion, lead with purpose, and continue blossoming as one of Sri Lanka’s leading Leo Districts.
